First Post

Well, here I am. 'Starting' another blog. I don't really know if there's anything specific that I'm looking for, other then a place to vent some of my thoughts from time to time. Hoping that 2019 turns out to be a good year for me. 2018 was actually a pretty good year for me personally, but there are still several things that I would like to improve upon this upcoming year. I've already been pretty bad about some of my New Years resolutions, but overall I think I'm progressing as a person. I've been really good about getting to the gym at least a few times a week the last 3 weeks or so. My goal is still to get down probably 20-30lbs by my birthday in May, and I think I can make that happen if I keep at it. Its something that's been bothering me for awhile now; I left the army in reallllly good shape, and I've just had such a terrible diet and lack of exercise the last couple of years that I'm really not happy with my current appearance. Definitely my top priority this year. Professionally I'm not particularly thrilled with where I am either. My current job is incredibly unfulfilling, and I don't see a future here. I have interviews set up with two rival firms, and one of them I think I'm a really good candidate. I'd really like to get that job, but I don't want to get my hopes up too high. I thought I was a lock for a better job last summer and had the rug pulled out from under me when they told me they were going another direction, so I'm just not willing to get too excited just yet. Financially, I'm not good, but not bad. I'm still paying off student loans, and I have a little bit of credit card. I think I can get it all of the credit card debt paid off this year as long as I budget correctly. I don't even consider myself to be living too far outside my means but I feel like I'm completely paycheck to paycheck. Things are just, not great. Well, I think that'll be it for me today. Going to try to pick up a book tonight and actually read something.
